Massimo Pupillo came from the pappardelle west to bring you this gothic terror tale, penned by Gianni Grimaldi a noted journalist who worked with Mr Corbucci. It's La vendetta di Lady Morgan (1965)
And it's something familiar, something peculiar, something for everyone - a comedy tonight! And we all know Jack Lemmon will give this one a twist and Myrna Loy maybe a bit more seasoned but she is never out of season really. And they say there's no fools like them April Fools (1969)
Now Larry Buchanan sure directed his fair share of turkeys, heck, he was even cited as the worst director of our time - but nowt wrong with a little poultry in motion, is there? Lord knows they can use the exercise. The theme of this film may prove blasphemous and it may be serious anathema for aficionados of the three J's - Jimi, Janis and Jim - but yet this still may be hard to resist, much in the vein of a head-cheese sandwich.
Down on Us (1984)
The First Noël (and only).Celebrating the genius of Mr Coward with an all time great -
Brief Encounter (1945) David Lean naturally the keeper of this gate, it would be one
of several Coward plays that he successfully adapted for ol' big silver. In fact , his directorial
debut was 1942, In Which We Serve. This was co-directed by he and Coward based
on another winning play of the noble Noël's. Love, torrid love, indiscretion and
a bit o' the ol' Sergei Rachmaninoff to set the tempo just right. And three other
appetite whetters - Trevor Howard, Celia Johnson and Stanley Holloway is this-a-way.
Nice and tidy.

Good afternoon Mrs. Calabash, ha-cha-cha - here comes your greatest admirer sticking his perennial proboscis in once again in this post-Hays musical helmed by Charles Reisner, accompanied by many other contractees a la via MGM. From 1934 - Student Tour. A note of interest - Mr Durante's family lived up the block from one of my Brooklyn grandmas.
Sunday is for sundries and sundried tomatas too in case you were wondering what to garnish your chicken piccata with. The first serving is a MGeM from 1969 that featured the once de rigueur duo of Dan Rowan and Dick Martin, love-ins and laugh-ins, they catapulted Goldie Hawn, Al Capp wanted to catapult her too - but this is a family show.
And you bet your sweet bippy it's - The Maltese Bippy. And the joke's on Nelson Riddle having his own laugh on the score.
