Founded in the year of our Lord, 1912, Nikkatsu Studios hit the ground running with their high-octane, hardboiled, hardscrabbled edges while maintaining their undeniable gravitas and though they cheekily created film noir post 1958, you can forgive them for 'Cruel Gun Story' alone, which will bandy it's supernal self here today in The Projection Room
